media-workshop 2009 started

This years media-workshop started last week after Eid on monday. Eid is the Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. We are working on two subjects: Photography and Internet and BLOG-writing.

In the beginninging we will start with the basics like internet itself and ways of using it in a safe and appropriate manner.

Projektbeschreibung

Als Kind auf der Straße zu leben, ist ein hartes Los. In Indien kommt noch hinzu, dass sie als “Kastenlose” zusätzlich ausgegrenzt und verachtet werden. “Salaam Baalak Trust” (SBT) kümmert sich jedes Jahr um etwa 4.000 Jungen und Mädchen. Ein aktuelles Projekt des SBT ist “The Walk”, eine alternative Stadtführung für Touristen durch die Bezirke Paharganj und New Delhi Railway Station, die von ehemaligen Straßenjungen als Fremdenführer angeboten werden soll.

Die Aufgabe der ASA-Teilnehmenden ist es, dieses im Aufbau begriffene Projekt mit voranzutreiben.

new tasks for old digital-cameras!

Für den Workshop  suchen wir finanzielle und/oder materielle Unterstützung! Insbesondere gebrauchte Digitalkameras sind eine großartige Bereicherung für die Arbeit mit den Jugendlichen in Delhi. Sie bieten die Möglichkeit mittels eines interessanten und vielfältig einsetztbaren Mediums viel in Eigenregie erarbeiten zu können!

Wer hat vielleicht noch eine alte digitale Kamera zuhause in der Schublade liegen, und könnte sie für einen guten Zweck entbehren??? Über Unterstützung freuen wir uns riesig!

what will happen soon?

Auch in diesem Jahr wird ein Projekt in New Delhi stattfinden.  Die Evaluation von ‚The Walk’ und die gemeinsame Workshopentwicklung wird noch stärker auf die Bedürfnisse von Salaam Baalak Trust (SBT )zugeschnitten sein, als der 2008 angebotene Medienworkshop. Wir hoffen, mit diesem Ansatz nicht nur die Jugendlichen und Mitarbeiter von SBT zu unterstützen, sondern auch anderen Interessierten in Deutschland die Möglichkeit zu eröffnen, ‚vom Anderen’ zu lernen und Verantwortung zu übernehmen.
